DAY 1: DECEMBER 30, 2023, CUSCO - CITY AND SURROUNDINGS.

Welcome and pick-up from the airport to be transferred to your hotel in Cusco. In the afternoon, around 1:00 p.m., we pick you up from the hotel and start our city tour, starting with Cusco Cathedral. Then, we will visit the Qorikancha Temple or Temple of the Sun. We will continue our guided visit to the archaeological sites located around the city of Cusco, starting with Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka–Pukara, and Tambomachay. Our tour ends at the Plaza de Armas in Cusco, around 6:00 p.m.

DAY 2: DECEMBER 31, 2023, MARAS MORAY BICYCLE - AGUAS CALIENTES.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 08:30 a.m. heading northeast of the city of Cusco, to reach the town of Chinchero. We will take a detour on a road that will take us to our starting point. Here, our guide will provide information about the route and the safety measures we offer. Also, our guide will provide all the implements to start the Maras Moray bike tour. Along the way, we can appreciate wonderful landscapes such as the Huaypo lagoon, the Salkantay, Veronica, and Pitusiray snow-capped mountains. We will also encounter local people engaged in their agricultural work. We will visit the Moray archaeological site from the upper part, an spectacular view that very few people know.

Later, we will descend to the salt mines, where our guide will tell you more about the history and customs of the people of Maras regarding salt extraction. Finally, we will descend towards Pichingoto and then arrive at the Urubamba track where our transportation awaits us. You will have time for lunch in Urubamba, and then we will transfer to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes. You will enjoy a New Year's dinner and stay overnight in this town to visit Machu Picchu the next morning.

DAY 3: JANUARY 1, 2024, AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU.

Very early, we will transfer to the bus station to ascend to the Machu Picchu Archaeological Sanctuary. The journey takes 25 minutes, and we will finally arrive at Machu Picchu to appreciate the impressive sunrise and the majesty of the citadel. The guide will start the guided tour for you to better understand the history and architecture of the Inca City of Machu Picchu. You will be amazed by the Inca constructions and temples, as well as the natural surroundings. In the afternoon, we will board the return train. Once in Ollantaytambo, we will pick you up from the station to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 4: JANUARY 2, 2024, SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

Full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas starts early at 8:00 a.m. We will pick you up from your hotel. Our vehicle will head to the town of Pisac, where our tour will begin by visiting the Archaeological Center of Pisac, located 45 minutes from Cusco. Another good reason to visit Pisac is its craft market, where you will find a variety of clothing made from alpaca and crafts that may be of interest to you.

At noon, we will head to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch, a perfect opportunity to taste Peruvian cuisine. In the afternoon, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, and the afternoon is perfect for taking photographs, as the light is less intense compared to midday. Ollantaytambo is an archaeological center with a lot of history and legends. We will take a walk with our guide for approximately 45 minutes. Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco.

DAY 5: JANUARY 3, 2024, HIKE TO THE SEVEN-COLOR MOUNTAIN.

The tour starts with the pick-up from your hotel very early, around 4 in the morning. The 3-hour journey takes us to the southeast of the city, to the Kayrawiri community, at almost 5,000 meters above sea level. After breakfast in Pitumarca, we head to Kayrawiri, where the guide will provide recommendations for the 2.5 to 3-hour hike to the impressive Seven-Color Mountain or Vinicunca. After enjoying the landscape for about an hour, we return to the starting point for a buffet lunch and then take the bus back to Cusco in the evening.
